Never a Dull Moment

I left off yesterday’s blog with a little bit of a cliffhanger. Let me fill you in on the events from last night.

Last night, during his announcements before Hamburger Night, Program Director Richard proclaimed that everyone would go to the gym for Glee Club and stick around afterwards in preparation for Movie Night. As the campers began to sing all of the classic Alpine Glee Club songs, they began to notice something strange happening. As they were singing, more and more of the words from the transparencies we use began to disappear. Finally, in a fit of rage, the Hulk appeared and declared he had stolen all of the words to our Glee Club songs because our singing keeps him awake at night. Out of nowhere, Captain America, Ironman, and Thor appeared to try and calm down the Hulk, but they were unsuccessful as he absconded with our lyrics. Left feeling helpless, the Avengers issued the campers a challenge, an impossible mission…to retrieve the lyrics to our beloved songs.

After the Avengers issued their challenge, each cabin went back to put on their darkest clothes and best camouflage. Right at dark, cabins began receiving their codes and stealthily moving throughout camp. Thanks to Mountain Cabin 11 and Ridge Cabins 1 and 6, the lyrics were found and safely returned! The tragedy of not being able to perform for Camp DeSoto was thankfully averted.

There is never a dull moment here at Alpine. It was fun watching the campers as they slowly began to realize what was happening. You never know when a normal, every day activity may turn into a special event.  Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more blogs to come.
