A post from Carter:
Trip day is one of my favorite days in camp! It is a chance for campers and counselors to take a break from their normal camp schedule and embark on a fun adventure. This morning, all of camp loaded chartered buses and headed to Lake Winnie (an amusement park near Chattanooga). What we thought might be a semi-rainy day, ended up being one of the most beautiful blue skied days. As I walked around the park today, there was a contagious since of excitement and happiness.
Every where you turned you could hear a group of campers erupt with laughter and screams as they took off on a ride or see a cabin stopping mid day to enjoy snow cones and icees in the shade. I had the pleasure of riding the cannon ball roller coaster multiple times with several groups of campers. I loved walking up the ramp and hearing them say to one another “sit with me!” or “wasn’t that so awesome-let’s go again!” And I would see one group of campers race with a counselor to a ride and then another group pile into paddle boats with a counselor and laugh together as they paddled around the lake. So the day appealed to every kind of camper. The buses rolled back into camp and campers hopped off the buses to take showers and get their mail. I think all of camp will sleep well tonight!
