Retreat Rentals

Alpine Camp for Boys is situated on top of Lookout Mountain in the northeast corner of Alabama near the mountain community of Mentone. Lookout Mountain is part of the Cumberland Plateau, the southern portion of the Appalachian Mountain Range running from Maine into northern Alabama. We are located two hours northeast of Birmingham, AL, two hours northwest of Atlanta, GA and one hour south of Chattanooga, TN.

Alpine Camp is available for rent by church groups, school groups, and family gatherings. Winter facilities provide the perfect setting for retreats with 35 to 100 participants. Summer facilities are available during limited weekends in April, May, August, and September accommodating up to 300.

Winter Facilities

Winterized areas include The Ridge Cabins and The Deerfoot Lodge. There are six heated cabins at the Ridge, sleeping 15 participants each, with attached baths including two showers, two toilets, and two sinks.

Deerfoot Lodge is an Adirondack Style lodge offering a large meeting/dining room with wireless internet, open stone fireplace, antler chandeliers, a 15-foot deep porch wrapped along two sides, and an outside fireplace. A private bedroom and bath sets upstairs with two double beds. The entire building is heated and air-conditioned. A breezeway connects Deerfoot Lodge to Little Deer Lodge with a large meeting room, restrooms for men and women, and a private bedroom and bath upstairs with two single beds.

Alpine offers delicious home cooked meals prepared by our wonderful kitchen staff. Groups also have access to our open air gymnasium, athletic field, tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, and campfire area.

Both summer and winter groups may arrange to use our extensive high and low ropes course. The course is an excellent way to have fun, fellowship, work on communication, and gain trust among your group. There is an additional charge for use of the Ropes Course. Qualified instructors are required. Arrangements should be made well in advance of arrival and the group is solely responsible for paying the ropes course facilitators at the conclusion of the program.
